awesome breakfast and service. i had the SOS gravy over biscuit.
Really quaint restaurant with a great atmosphere. Food was outstanding and service was friendly
This place is awesome! Run by a wonderful couple! One cooks and the other serves! The food is fantastic l, with plenty of options to satisfy any breakfast craving. The have a plethora of hot sauces to choose from as well as some specialty salts! The atmosphere is also pretty cool.If there is a downside it is that you often have to wait a considerable amount of time for a table and then for your food. I never bothers us because we just chat while we wait.
Wonderful food and staff! Lots of hot sauce!
Food was so good but it is the smallest restaurant and our food took more than an hour to arrive and the staff wasn’t the nicest. We had places to be and this really threw off our plan for the day. Would not recommend.
Tiny little diner with AMAZING breakfast. This is the epitome of Mom and pop because it’s literally just them running it. There are a handful of tables and usually a wait that is well worth it. There is a nice collection of children’s books to help with the wait if you bring your kids. That’s actually become part of the routine for my girls and I! There is also a large selection of hot sauces available. Ask for some recommendations and they will set you up! There is also a good collection of boutique salts that are fun to try. I have never had a bad meal here!
Extremely good food! Run just by a couple, so be warned that it could be on the slower side, but worth it :)
We did not actually eat here, we stood in line. The restaurant is ran by a husband and wife ONLY. All tables were full and not one with food. Plus they had a line. I am sorry but even if your food is so awesome you truly cannot expect every person who comes iN to wait a long time (seated or not). Supply and demand, you need to get more hands. If i ever decide to come back here and actually eat i will update this review. We had a baby and a 5 year old with us, it was not happening. I do not recommend bringing any kids if there is a wait, thats just cruel.
There's something about this place that warms my heart. Love it when we can get a table.
Have eaten here twice now. Don't got being hungry and ready to eat. Plan ahead cause it took over 25 minutes to get my s.o.s and it wasn't worth the wait. Very nice people and they do take good care of you but.....
It's really good home style place. It's a really small place so if you arrive after 8am, expect to wait a bit as well for your food, but it's absolutely worth it.
The food is to die for! The helpings generous, the add ons plentiful, the plates filling. If you're cold they have throws for your legs. Need a hot sauce? You have your pick from shelves and shelves. Small, cozy, environment, and by cozy I mean only seven tables. Their salt is a blend of red, black, and pink, yum! All the seasoning you need. The potatoes are amazing, whether you order the homefries(diced red potatoes) or the hashbrowns(shredded), they're FRESH! What a wonderful little spot! Get there early!
The best breakfast in Tacoma IMO. It's a quaint and cozy place so expect to do some waiting unless you go early (especially on weekends). If you're looking for a classic American breakfast, this is the place.
The strawberry french toast with whipped cream, love it! red potatos n bacon scrambled egg, the pancakes r huge, fill you up! There r 3 box table seats n 4 small tables. its very busy place( it took 50-60min until the dishes were served). If we knew its a small but busy restaurant, we could go ealier before get really really hungry.the street parking wasnt that bad, but the 6th ave is unpredictable.
They are great. Throughout the 5 years that we have been coming here, service, food and atmosphere has stayed the same. They are consistently providing a reason to come back and enjoy their breakfast. Would recommend anything with the thick-sliced bacon.
The baconized pancakes were amazing, with thick-sliced bacon. The sausage for a side was perfectly spiced. The hash browns were fried nicely, without being greasy.
Owned and operated by an adorable older couple. She mans the front, he runs the grill. Delicious food in a small space that only seats about 20 people so be prepared to wait - worth the wait.
Cute little hole in the wall resturant with about 9 tables. Food and service was great. Took one star off because it took us about 45 minutes to get our food. So if youre not in a hurry and want a good breakfast scramble I recommend.
A Tacoma staple. The restaurants is small. Often times there is a wait at the door. If you drive by and there's no wait it's time to go in. The breakfast is exceptional and the desserts are great.
Good food. Large portions. Limited seating means that you may have to wait. Definitely plan to split plates or bring home left over food.
Enjoyed the food, I had the special they had that day and it was delicious. I met a friend for coffee and breakfast. We got there shortly after opening and the place cooked up fast. Seems like a popular place for the locals as the people inside seemed to be known the person serving us. Fun atmosphere and good coffee.
I ate a breakfast meal there, pancakes, and breakfast sausage, and it was quite delicious! I was amazed at how HOT (in temperature), but equally YUMMY the maple syrup was- and the pancakes HELD UP under the heat of the syrup! Altogether, though the prices are a little higher than most larger diners, I would still recommend this place HANDS DOWN to try! AWESOME eats!! ^5 x 2! 😛 (Btw, I would suggest going there EARLY as there is limited seating- it's a small, cozy place)
Great Breakfast - Small and tacky looking but a great breakfast. They have a case of different hot sauces to choose from, each table has a specialty salt. The hash browns are incredibly buttery, portions are generous and the sausages are the thick kind, they serve Bluebeard coffee. This is one of my regular breakfast places and I have never had a bad meal. Had lunch once it was also good.
Always an excellent breakfast. It is small so you probably will need to wait for a table but it is worth the wait. The service is fantasticave the food hits the spot. Great tasting and good portions. I always leave full and satisfied. Fat and happy.
I feel this is the best place in Tacoma to go for breakfast. Pam is always a pleasure and the portions they give you are incredible. All scratch made home cooking feel
First time at this cute little cafe and already loving it! The price are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The food is great and the service is consistent though I'd have to say that one of my favorite view was seeing all the different hot sauce options they have right at the entrance.
The best traditional breakfast in Tacoma! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. You might have to wait for a bit to get one of the few tables but this is prime time to chat with your breakfast companion or read a book. The food is delicious, fresh, and expertly prepared by Chad and delivered by Pat, the kindest lady in town. You won't regret it if you visit, but don't come when you're in a hurry. 💗
Small cozy place run by a couple. Excellent breakfast food if you can get in.
Small and hidden, but oh my if you find!! Great local coffee, great food!! The S.o.s. with hamburger is amazing. Small seating area but well worth the wait. Amazing selection of hot sauce too!! Overall a great local eatery with wonderful staff that make you feel right at home! Thank you!
Best little breakfast spot on 6th Ave. Sometimes they're closed random days, and that's a bummer, but there are only two employees, and they own the place! So it's understandable. Dang they cook good food.
Food and service was just okay. Not worth the awkward wait.
Mediocre dinner food at best, sub par customer service. Our party was crammed into a table that was too small, and after asking to move to a larger space we were treated with attitude just shy of hostile.
Good food friendly service
Small, local eatery run by older couple.Diverse menu with daily specials. Breakfast/lunch only. Scrambles are huge-share with another person and still take home leftovers. Happy to customize your order. Good coffee
Small dining area makes for a bit of a wait at times but TOTALLY worth the wait. Cozy atmosphere, and food that is the comfiest of comfort foods.
This was our 4th attempt at finding a place to eat. Everything else was a 45 minute wait or was closed. And honestly, we should’ve just stayed and waited an hour at another restaurant. This is a very small place with only 6 tables. It’s run by a husband/wife team. Usually those are the best places, but not this one. We weren’t greeted with a warm welcome, our kids were ignored (apparently kids don’t get hungry or thirsty), she unsolicitedly corrected my 2 year old, the wait for food was ridiculous, the food was way over priced, and I ordered one thing and got something else even though she said they could make it. The space isn’t clean, and the server wasn’t warm or welcoming. I’ve worked in customer service most of my adult life, so I know what to expect and I don’t hand out bad reviews very often but this one was deserved. 1/5 — do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.
Very small. Only 8-10 tables. But RIDICULOUSLY delicious breakfast. The baconized pancakes are so fluffy, so tasty, and so bacon-y!The staff is wonderful and friendly. I'll be making several return trips...
Best SOS I've ever had.
Love this small mom and pop breakfast place. It is delicious, and the owners are super nice. It's small so be prepared to wait or come early. It's always worth it though!
Slow But DecentIt's hard to desire the sort of foods you can easily make at home; and Old Milwaukee serves the same tired "syrup" and HFCS Smucker's Jelly you'd find anywhere. In m many respects, it is the sort of place you've been to a hundred times. With that said: their home fries are perfectly cooked and seasoned with garlic oil; their portions are large; the sea salt mixture at the table is delicious. If you can't cook your own breakfast, it's worth it. If you can, it's probably a pass. And be prepared to wait about an hour for your food.
Great little Mom and Pop place. Food is delicious, atmosphere is cozy. A must for breakfast, if you can get in the door. It's really popular, so try on off times if you're able.
We got a table relatively quickly. It's a super small place, not much to the menu. My scramble wasn't good at all. The eggs and vegetables and all were cooked at the same time. My potatoes were boiled, not fried. Biscuits and gravy is called SOS. Don't know why.
This is a nice little owner operated place. Food is pretty good and I've been there several time had something different each time and it's always been good, its become a regular place for us. Also, good coffee from a local roaster. Prices are fair for the area it is in.
The perfect simple breakfast spot in town. Loved it!
Large portions of hearty breakfast fare at a good price. Very inviting and casual atmosphere!
Good food , good service , the only thing they are missing is the ambience, all the service is good but no emotions provided is almost robotic.
What a wonderful spot. Delicious food, and amazing service. There's a huge array of hot sauces to choose from. Really like the coffee. I can't think of any negative to this place. The scrambles and pancakes are my favorites, but everything I've had has been good.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would. No wonder there is always a line out the door to get a table the food is delicious and portions are large. Also it is Husband and wife operated.
Exactly what I was looking for! Simple, delicious pancakes with my coffee refilled promptly. Just know that there's a wait, only two people run this tiny, popular place.
